If you’re one of the many customers looking to go live using the table service feature on the 4th of July, we understand how important it is going to be to get this right, so we just wanted to put a few pointers on using the app your way, in order to make sure you are fully prepared.

  • What printers do you support?

    • We recommend that you purchase a Godcom GT90, a wireless printer with full accept/reject capabilities, specific API development has been made on our platform to support this printer, similar looking/functional models you can see online are not supported, it needs to be the Goodcom GT90

What’s a Goodcom GT90 and how do I order one? - Click Here.

    • We also support Google cloud print, which supports the majority of USB printers when connected to Laptop/Desktop via USB with an active Internet connection, Google Cloud Print is not supported wirelessly

  • How can I set up my printer?

    • If you have the Goodcom GT90, please connect the wifi and come on to our live chat between 9am - 4:30pm BST and we will remotely access your device and set up the printer for you

    • If you are using a google cloud printer please see the link below

  • My app is not yet on both or either of the App Stores but I want to go live, what can I do?

    • Unfortunately Google and Apple do have a slightly delayed review process at present, so you may be a few days away from going live, don’t worry though we have a great solution to get you started head to the link below

      https://cms.appinstitute.com/cms/app_marketing.php#nav-domain

On this link you will see an App URL this is a mobile web version of your app, advanced progressvie web app technology to provide an app like experience outside of the App/Play store, and most importantly allows you to get the app on your customers devices ASAP.

Just share the App URL link via your social media, sms, mailing list, or even use the QR code to scan whilst on the premises! - We can create digital flyers for you to get printed at your own leisure so just ask us for more information

  • I’ve enabled Table Service but nothings showing on checkout?

    • Currently the way it’s set up is you have to set Table Service + Collection or Delivery. Our developers are looking at enhancing this so Table Service is a standalone option

However if you urgently need this on it’s own then you can rename delivery as Eat In Only - in the text editor and customisation settings located in the global settings once you’ve done this just add NA in the postcodes section of the cart,  if they then chose that option it would display delivery not available and throw them back to the checkout.

  • I’m using the App URL / Web App And Push Notifications Are Coming Through?

    • Unfortunately push notifications are not fully supported within the web app due to mobile phone browser restrictions, when you go live on the app store you’ll be able to send as many push notifications as you like

  • How Do I Take Payments?

    • Within the cart section of the appbuilder you’ll see payments option, here we allow you to choose one of our gateways including Stripe, Braintree, SagePay, Authorize.net and PayPal if you don’t have one of these gateways already set up then we recommend getting  a stripe account as they are lowest fees compared to the rest at around 1.4% + 20p per transaction

Please note that these fees are likely to be higher than your chip and pin merchant as they are classed as Card Holder not present and pose greater risk, you can set a transaction fee in the cart to cover this, or increase your prices slightly, from much feedback we have had from customers and end users of apps, people are happy to support businesses by paying that fraction more as they understand the added expense of trading in the new normal

  • What About Taking Customer Details?

    • When ordering via the app its compulsory for customers to enter full details as it’s transactional data, so that would cover you under the new government guidelines of tracking who comes in your premises, if you want to go one step further you can head to tab settings on the home tab and select login required and registration form, that way everyone who downloads your app will have to provide details whether they order or not.

    • You can see the Name/Contact number on each account, as well as orders made, arranged by date

  • I’m not using a printer, how can I receive my orders?

    • Orders are sent via email, and can be viewed on our CRM app.

To add a new email address, head to Global Settings on the left hand side of the AppBuilder menu, go to Action Alerts > Email > Enter email address
Only enter a printer email address if using the Goodcom GT90To access our CRM app, download the AppInstitute help guide app from the Apple or Google play store, once you’ve downloaded the app, head to preview > members and use the same username and password you use to login to the AppBuilder and you can view your orders and manage your customers on the go

  • What can I do if I'm out of stock of an item?

    • If you run out of stock of an item, just head to to the appbuilder > edit menu > locate menu item, select out of stock and save item
