Apple Developer Account - What Type Do I Require?

To submit your app to Apple you will require your own Apple Developer Account under the business name or the business owners name of the App itself.

Here’s Why.

Apple Developer terms and conditions state the following

“Apps created from a commercialised template or app generation service will be rejected unless they are submitted directly by the provider of the app’s content. These services should not submit apps on behalf of their clients”

What Does That Mean?

You are using a platform based App service to avoid high costs of bespoke app development, therefore Apple want to ensure all apps submitted via Platforms are genuinely being developed by the business owners themselves, so you need to create your own Apple Developer account in order to get your business live on the App Store.

What If I Am Building The App On Behalf Of A Client?

If the app you are building is not for your own business then you become a 3rd party also, and therefore you need to ensure you provide the developer details of your client and not yourself.

What Type Of Account Should I Choose?
